Accuracy of real_fps

Makslane:
I'm doing some optimization tests and I was wondering how accurate the real_fps variable is.
The name suggests that it's very accurate but I just want to be sure if it is or not before I start basing my conclusions on it.
Would you say that it's very accurate or just roughly accurate?
Is there any variance in accuracy depending on the device or any other conditions? If so, what are they?

BTW, keep up the good work!

The real_fps is calculated in each frame draw.
Will be affected by device speed.

Thanks for the reply Makslane...
So, if I understand correctly, the slower the device... the lower the accuracy of real_fps is... and vice versa.
Is that correct?

I think there is no effect on accuracy.

Thanks, that's good to know...
Also, how about opening another forum area regarding game optimization issues so that people can share their tips on creating smaller game file sizes and faster games.
We could discuss things like techniques, code, graphics, tools, etc.. Anything to do with making games smaller and faster with Game Editor..
There are only a few resources here and on the internet regarding this important area. Especially for pocket pc, etc...
Seems to me this would really be useful for people designing for devices like pocket pc and smartphone.
Would you agree?

May be the 'Advanced Topics' forum

If you think that's the right place, okay with me.
I was thinking that having a seperate forum would remind people of the need to optimize their games plus make the information easier to find.
Unlike the desktop, a slow framerate or memory hog can really mess up an otherwise great game on a PDA.
I found a couple of resources people should read and I don't want them to get buried.
The search function is okay but it depends a lot on the keywords you use.
Anyway, you're the boss so I'll post there when I get a chance..
