To my knowledge, yes, Game Editor has always used SDL, most of GE relies on SDL.

I'm very happy to see that GE is still in development; I've been using it a LOT lately, so any news is always exciting :)

I hadn't noticed it before but there was a little progress made in November https://github.com/game-editor/game-editor/commit/fb2e996a0976b8df5776b22e8c39d83cd633eff6

By the way I noticed gE is divided into two branches on github; Linux and Master. Why does Linux have it's own branch and macOS not have? Just a silly out of curiousity question.

Only updating from visual studio 2013 to 2015, so expect more bugs

Because both Linux and Mac cores are based on UNIX? or maybe is harder to develop gameEditor for Linux :?

Did someone say gameEditor was build on very messy code which made it difficult to build on?

I may be experimenting with other tools now but I'd always be open to a new version of gameEditor.

Yeah, it's sad that game editor has been abandoned like it has.
It was always my favourite tool, and I still use it for various art streams because of how quick you can build a game with it.

The limitations always hold it back, it's fast, sure.
But it's like driving a sports car with no steering wheel. You'll only go so far before you crash.

I've been forced to use other programs, like gamemaker.
and gosh, that one is like riding a bike uphill, you'll get there, but boy is it exhausting

Everyone experiences downfall at some point in time. Right now, GE is at its downfall. But I have a feeling that if we work together to bring GE back on its feet, we will suceed.

If only bat78 didn't go bitching out we may have one more potential developer. Though I think they didn't want to touch the gE source code as it was "contaminated by Microsoft" or whatever and it's in C++ not C.

I would help, but I'm not that advanced yet in C/C++ to be actually useful.

I'm very bad at coding but i will try to learn C and C++ at all cost.

The problem is that I don't use Visual Studio and I don't plan using it.
