GE sound problems

Postby sonicforvergame » Fri Dec 28, 2012 2:04 pm

as in a lot of game i make i am using a lot of sound and music and sometimes actor events aren't enough for what i need

1-the music we can put in GE are in a wide brand nut not really easy to get
2-A event called "endMusic"or "stopMusic"should be added

But for what to do with those problems here are the solution

1-get GE to read Mp3 music(i don't know why we can't do it already)and let GE read uncompressed WAV files
3-someone have to create this option no other choice ^.^

I believe music is always played in the in channel 1, so you can just use stopSound(1) to stop music.

The problem for mp3 is licensing. If I recall correctly, you'd have to pay money, even if you were using gE privately. gE supports ogg, which you can easily convert mp3 files into, you just need to find a program to do it.

There is free software for this, just google it. And being able to use mp3 is more expensive. http://mp3licensing.com/royalty/
